Hi, I'm Sari
I create photos that reflect the love and light within you.
Who I am:
Natural light photographer based in Sonoma County & the Bay Area, specializing in school photography, family portraits, senior sessions, and professional portraits.
For more than 20 years I've been photographing kids, families, and seniors. Always outdoors, always in natural light. No studio, no strobes, no stiff "say cheese." Just real light and real people.
Some families have known my work for over a decade. Including, if you've had a kid in school photos, maybe from that little magnet still stuck on your fridge. I love that.
I keep it simple on session day: a comfortable kid accepted as their true self allows me to see the light in them. I always take two photos, one normal, one silly. You never know which one a family ends up loving more.
Boutique, on purpose:
I'm not a squeeze-you-in, hurry-you-out kind of photographer, and that's on purpose. I work with private schools and a small number of families, and I'm always making room for new ones, because every person who steps into my light gets all of my time and all of my energy.
Our sessions are two full hours, because the good stuff can't be rushed. We'll sit together first and talk about where to be, what to wear, and what feels like you. Then we'll wander into soft, natural light and let the camera disappear. Little ones get time to warm up, and grown-ups get time to exhale. The magic usually shows up in the second hour, when everyone forgets they're being photographed.
When it's time to edit, I'll walk you through every step, so you always know how your story is coming together. Nothing is a mystery here.
My door is always open, and so is my heart. Let's watch your family grow together for the next twenty years.
My Background:
I have created a dynamic business committed to making a difference in the world through photography. With 20 years of experience photographing everything from preschool milestones to high school graduations, as well as intimate family moments and polished professional headshots, I bring an honest and heartfelt approach to every session.
I am a college-educated and self-trained photographer, spiritual seeker, and catalyst for creativity. With that unique combination comes both rigor and high standards, as well as heartfelt connection, creative joy, flexibility, and a fluid photo session that will help you feel completely held.
Some of my most gratifying work is done with those who want something extraordinary and unique, or something that perfectly fits their personality and reaches beyond the traditional. However, traditional is also okay, and sometimes preferred by my clients.
I promise you'll enjoy the experience of making your portraits just as much as you'll cherish the final product you display in your home and share with your family members and friends.
I look forward to meeting and working with you soon.
My Philosophy:
I believe great photography starts with trust.
Whether it's a child’s laugh, a proud graduate’s smile, or a professional’s confidence shining through, my sessions are designed to be relaxed, fun, and natural.
At the core of my mission is helping my clients become inspired, exuberant, authentic, connected beings who can express their true selves in a photograph.
Also fundamental to my work is creating a fun, co-created session with love and truth.
Your alignment and commitment to my mission are critical to making this portrait session successful, as you will present this portrait of yourself to the world with high esteem in every interaction you have.
After your session, you can view all the photos, choose favorites, and request additional retouching. It's your story, your way.
I aim to create images that feel as natural and genuine as the people in them- photography that reflects the light in you, not just how you look. I believe the best photos happen when you feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated, and that’s the experience I strive to create every time I pick up my camera.
How I work:
A good portrait starts before the camera comes out. I keep it simple, allow kids to feel comfortable as themselves, and let the rest happen on its own.
I always take two: one normal, one silly.
You never know which one a family ends up loving more.
That same patience carries through everything I shoot, whether it's one school's picture day or a two-hour family session.
I'd rather wait for the real moment than rush past it.
Photography has always been my way of celebrating
the authentic connections,
fleeting moments,
and the true spirit of the people I have the honor to photograph.
Many clients return each year to update their portraits
as families grow,
milestones are achieved,
or careers evolve.
